Welcome to AgBiosecurity

This website is your direct source of information about the Poultry and Livestock biosecurity programs developed under the auspices of the Poultry Industry Council and the Ontario Livestock and Poultry Council. All of the information in those programs is provided freely to anyone entering the site, and is provided for industry and public use.

To date, two main areas of activity have been undertaken and completed under these programs – biosecurity protocols for the Poultry Services industry, and a survey of farm performance against a set of biosecurity practices, taken from over 110 cooperating farms across the livestock and poultry industries. Ontario's poultry and livestock industries have come together with the goal of establishing the insurability of the industry against Foreign Animal Disease (FAD), in concert with private sector insurers. Intensive work over the past three years, led by the Poultry Industry Council, has initiated significant advancements in the biosecurity of the industry, particularly among producers.

AgBiosecurity.ca is intended to serve as an information resource and as a forum for collaboration in developing biosecurity best practices in the livestock and poultry industry across Ontario and Canada.
